How Fees Are Calculated
Certification fees are based on the actual time required to conduct a competent audit. BCERT calculates audit duration in accordance with IAF Mandatory Document 5 (IAF MD 5:2019), which defines minimum audit time based on:
- Number of effective personnel — the primary driver of audit duration
- Complexity — number of sites, shifts, processes
- Standard requirements — ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 have different complexity factors
- Audit type — Stage 1, Stage 2, Surveillance, Recertification
All fee quotations are fixed-price and provided in writing before any audit commences.
Indicative Audit Duration (IAF MD 5)
Stage 1 audit is typically 30–50% of Stage 2 duration. Recertification is equivalent to Stage 2.
